1998 Traditional Home Design Award
Presented to Kelly Gale Amen
HOUSTON, Texas (February 1, 1998) . . . Weatherford, Oklahoma native Kelly Gale Amen, an international interior designer, is the 1998 Traditional Home Design Award Winner and his work will be featured extensively in the May issue of Traditional Home Magazine. Amen will receive the award at a time and place yet to be announced.
Prior to this year, a Texas designer had never won the Traditional Home Award and his Houston project is the only one from this city to ever be honored by the magazine, which has a circulation of 775,000 readers.
In addition, Amen is being recognized by the prestigious non-profit group Da Camera of Houston for his Traditional Home award with a “Surrealism Brunch” on Sunday, February 22. Amen is honorary chairman of the even, which will conclude at MD Modern Gallery, where his furniture is being featured in a premier one-man show.
Amen formed his design studio in 1972 in Houston, where he has become one of the city’s best-known interior designers. His projects range from New York townhouses to West Palm Beach retreats to Paris homes.
