May 21, 2000 | Participate in activities that reach about early American health care and how it has made life better for us today. See the ninth annual Making A Mark, an exhibition sponsored by Texas Children’s Cancer Center, on view at Bayou Bend throughout the month of May. For this marvelous collaborative exhibition, cancer patients at Texas Children’s Hospital helped to paint a large art bed contributed by Kelly Gale Amen, an internationally acclaimed furniture artist and designer. Amen donated his time and energy to the project, “blending the creative energies of Texas Children’s cancer patients and their siblings in this expressive bed of hope.” |
