Kelly Gale Amen pops up downtown: Since closing his KGA Compound in Montrose a few years ago, Houston interior designer and artist Kelly Gale Amen has lectured about luxury design in China, had his art benches installed at Bush Intercontinental Airport and created the Paint Day art program at the Zina Garrison Academy. He’s also spent his time crafting custom furniture and art – and the new KGA Collection will be on display for the first time at a pop-up boutique inside downtown’s Dakota Lofts from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Expect wall art, furniture in wood, resin, metal and upholstery, and chain-stitched pillows inspired by Amen’s time in India. Ten percent of net sales from the event will be donated to Gay & Lesbian Elder Housing in support of the program’s expansion to Houston. KGA Collection pop-up is at the Dakota Lofts, 711 William, Unit 402, 713-206-5346; kga.net.
