For Kelly Gale Amen, inspiration for his interior designs can truly come from anywhere. When approached about enclosing this quaint attic space, the client loved the rooms natural light and wanted to incorporate this element in the new design. The client wanted the space to reflect their distinct, light-hearted and whimsical taste. Kelly used the idea of kites in flight to create depth in the angular space and the use natural elements, like earth tone cushions and flying fixtures, brought the outdoors inside. To give the client a connection to what they initially loved about the space, Kelly angled the fainting couch under the skylight so that the client could relax staring up into the skylight like children on a summer day. Natural touches can reinvent any space bridging the space between indoor and out bringing out the natural light of a room.
