The Mermaid Project
The Mermaid Bench, in honor of The Mermaid Project, provides funding for free breast cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment for qualifying low-income and uninsured people living in Brazoria County, Texas. The Mermaid Bench represents breast cancer awareness and the importance of screening for both men and women.
The Mermaid Project, funded by donations to the Brazosport Health Foundation, is a local initiative dedicated to transforming potential breast cancer victims into survivors. The Project provides free breast cancer screening, diagnostic procedures and treatment to lowincome and uninsured women living in southern Brazoria County as well as funding for support groups and educational events.
